ASAP: question about using Pi's 5v pin for other devices [resolved]

Hello all,

I have seen that the Ultra++ soundcard uses both 5v pins of a rapberry pi and one 3v3 pin. If I use one of the 5V pins as power for a relay switch, how does it affect the whole system? Does it have bad consequences for the functioning of the soundcard? Or maybe the relay would not work properly?

I would be glad if I’d get an answer as soon as possible, because I have to present the result of my project in 2 days…

Hello and welcome,
5v is directly the 5v provided to the PI from the USB. So if your relay works on the raspberry pi adding the Ultra should not be an issue. Of course this will also depends on you power supply.
