Muse radio, no Voice Assistants after Upgrade

Hello,
After upgrade my muse radio with raspiaudio.voice-assistant 2025.1.11, the voice assist is broken.

Can you help me ?

Thank you

Hello again,

I tried reinstalling the “MuseRadio” and noticed the following:

  1. I now see the following message in the Home Assistant logs:
2025-09-30 21:26:33.251 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.helpers.entity] Entity None (<class 'homeassistant.components.esphome.select.EsphomeAssistPipelineSelect'>) has translation placeholders '{}' which do not match the name 'Assistant{index}', please create a bug report at https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+label%3A%22integration%3A+esphome%22

This message does not always appear.

  1. The wake word “Alexa” only works occasionally, and the others are unusable.

Here is my log file: [D][esp-idf:000][sys_evt]: I (8033) esp_netif_handlers: sta ip: [redacted], mask - Pastebin.com

Thank you in advance.
I am really not comfortable with ESP and programming, so I rely on your help.

PS: sorry for my english

Hi Alto2593
I’ll try to help you as quickly as possible…
First, I need some information:

  • How did you update?
      • Automatically from HA?
    • or
    • or
      • By directly recompiling the .yam file (RASPIAUDIO/muse-radio-voice-satellite git repository)
  • What was the last version you used (if you remember it)
Also, try checking that the MuseRadio is properly connected to your WiFi.

See you SOON!

hello,
I upgrade raspiaudio.voice-assistant 2025.1.10 to raspiaudio.voice-assistant 2025.1.11 in first time with home assistant and after i use raspiaudio.github.io

My Wifi il ok (0% pl), i can play music with music home assistant

Thank you

Hi,
I just checked version 2025.2.11 by loading it from raspiaudio.github.io: everything works here…
I suggest you check your assistant’s settings
(settings → voice assistants). This could be the cause of your difficulties…
Please keep me updated…

Hello,

Hi,
The problem is getting more complicated…
Can you tell if the wakeword (Alexa) is recognized (or not)?
Also, check that the microphones are properly connected (and if possible, try using other microphones).

It’s very difficult to help you remotely, but we’ll succeed!!

Hello,

The first time wakeword (Alexa) is recognized but not now, all KO.
Microphones are properly connected and i don’t have other mic.

Maybe, i can rollback to the previous version to test and troubleshoot a hardware problem, but how ?

TY

Hi!
Try anyway - just for a test - to make changes to the different sections of Assist. Try for example:

Conversation agent => Home Assistant
Speech-to-text => Home Assistant Cloud
Text-to-speech => Home Assistant Cloud

Keep me posted on your progress…

Hello,

Today, I’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps without success:

  • completely removed the device from Home Assistant and deleted all Assist configurations,
  • reflashed it via http://raspiaudio.github.io/
  • re-added it to Home Assistant and reconfigured Assist.

During initial setup in Home Assistant, I get the following error:

“The voice assistant cannot connect to Home Assistant”

Despite this, the device is still added successfully, and Music Assistant can use it.

However, when I click Configure voice assistant, I get the same error again:

“The voice assistant cannot connect to Home Assistant”

Also, when I try to play music or TTS directly from the controls of the raspiaudio_esp entity, it doesn’t work either.
Only Screen Backlight and Volumes seem to work.

Additionally, the wake word “Ok Nabu” does not work at all and does not appear in the console logs.
However, the wake word “Alexa” worked once, but now it doesn’t respond anymore.
Here’s an extract from the logs when it worked that one time:

One more interesting thing: every time I open or close the console logs via the web interface (tested on Microsoft Edge), the Muse Radio automatically restarts.

I’ll get back to you to try to resolve your problem.
Can you try the following?

  • Launch HA
  • Turn on your Radio
  • Play a sound from HA (Text-To-Speech, or RadioBrother, or Music Assistant…)
  • Only then switch to the Assistant

And then let me know how it goes (with logs if possible)

Thanks!
(Only the wakeWord “Alexa” works)

Hello,

I wanted to inform you that I’ve decided to stop using your raspiaudio.voice-assistant firmware, following the 2025.1.13 update which significantly degraded the sound quality of the device. The audio became very unpleasant, with excessively loud volume even at the lowest setting.

I’ve switched to the squeezelite-esp32 firmware for music and a home assistant voice preview, which suits my needs much better.

Thank you for taking the time to look into my issue.

Best regards,

We have exciting updates check our demo and tuorial here:

-Improved relabily
-Impoved local wake word detection
-New screens
