As a newbie, I’m a little embarrassed to ask, but I can’t seem to get the MUSE PROTO (ver. 1.7) to work with 18650 battery.
I’ve managed to find the PH2.0 connector and solder the wires to to the cells, which are connected in parallel.
I don’t think the board is fried (yet), because when I plug the usb-c cable in, the board still starts.
What could be the problem here?

Do you have a voltmeter to confirm that you have between 3v to 4.2v coming out your cells?

remove your battery pack, plug the USB C, do you measure 4.2V on the onboard battery connector?
Yes, I do.
