this might be a dumb question, but is the 5v pin for power input too?:
i want to hide the proto into a speaker, but don’t want to use USB to connect but a hollow plug (it is more robust and my childern tend to break USB-cables)
Short answer: YES you can use the 5v pin to power the Proto, but you will be be charging the battery. So it is ok if you don’t plan to use it on battery.

ah ok, good to know… i will probably cut an USB-cable to solder it to the hollow plug
