Muse and HA as a Voicee Assistant deevice

Hi,
just trieed to setup Muse to use with HA, but nothing seems to work …
I installed he HA-app on MUSE, works out and I found some entities in HA related to MUSE, I also can ping thee MUSE over the network, but … not more.

Can I have some hint please?
With best regards

Gerhard

let me check it with the lattest version of HA, it is so hard to keep up with all their updates breaking the yaml

Thanks a lot.
News:
I created an automation, which plays ‘Guten Morgen’ when I pressed the ‘Volume down’ button. Than I checked the entities shown in the ‘device page’ of the speaker and I see the button press actions, but no sound.

Playing around, I switched off ‘wake word’ on this page and huuuu it works now.

Maybe that helps.

State:
When I run an automation manually (‘execute’ from automation menue) or triggered by some entity, I get the voice …
Wake Word detection or triggering actions with spoken commands didn’t work for now.

Any good news for now?

Can you try to install using this the integration is well done : Ready-Made Projects — ESPHome

choose Media Player - Luxe

Hej,
done, but now, nothing is working anymore.
I was able to switch the lamp on the muse on and off, after installing the new software and wrapping up all the changeed Entity-IDs I cant switch the lamp and muse stop talking …

AND: I want use muse as a decice for the Voice Assistant (not playing any music, for this purpose I own a high end music equipment). Why do I have select ‘media player’ instead of ‘Voice Assistant’?

Ok, will try to find out why muse stopped talking, otherwise the original software do a better job for now.

Hej,
solved. I have to adopt the device and configure it, this time the installation was quite different and after fixing all this things, its talking again.
But, I want to use Muse as a IO device for a Voice assistant, so listening is also a part of the game.

I setted up a test button ‘testlamp’ and I am able to use the Assist (new icon in the right upper corner) to control it, by typing text.
Works fine.
So the last thing missing I guess is the speach-to-text part and the wake word detection.

I found a switch ‘Use Wake Word’ on the device page of my Muse, but this switch is disabled.

And during the configuration process, there was no selection like ‘use this device as input’ or so, like I have to select Muse as output device.

Hi we spent some time today on it and I think we fixed it you can try it:

Please let me know what you think. THis is based on Tetele of work.

I’m having a similar issue. My Muse Luxe was working as a voice assistance. It stopped working after I upgraded HA a week ago. Before that I my last HA upgrade was in August. I’m using Tetele yaml. From the logs, everything is working, but there is no audio output. I also don’t get any output when I try to test it using the TTS under Media. The TTS works if I stream to my web browser. If the wake word is turned on it doesn’t do anything when I press “Say.” If I turn off the wake word, the play button changes to a pause button for about 4 sec., but no audio from the speaker. I get the following logs:
[13:08:38][D][media_player:074]: Announcement: yes
[13:08:38][W][component:237]: Component i2s_audio.media_player took a long time for an operation (536 ms).
[13:08:38][W][component:238]: Components should block for at most 30 ms.
[13:08:44][W][component:237]: Component i2s_audio.media_player took a long time for an operation (341 ms).
[13:08:44][W][component:238]: Components should block for at most 30 ms.
[13:08:44][W][component:237]: Component i2s_audio.media_player took a long time for an operation (328 ms).
[13:08:44][W][component:238]: Components should block for at most 30 ms.

I would very much appreciate any help you can give.

Have you tried the yaml above?

Thanks, yes the yaml above works. I don’t completely understand the yaml, but it looks like you changed how the mute pin is handled. Thank you.

Thanks, but I am out now, will try it this evening/night.

Hi,
sorry, I am a newbee. How can I load this special .yaml?

The webesp needs a .bin, and when I adopt, a .yaml is created somewhere …

Sorry, no Idea.

Gerhard

PLEASE, need heelp!
No idea how to install this special .yaml

THANKS

In a nutshell you need to:
Install esphome plugin in HA, create a device, paste the yaml, compile, create a bin and install it with https://web.esphome.io/

google it or chatgpt it there are plenty of tutorial on it

Thanks.
I have integratd two ESPHome Wroom so long, so I now it basically, but I never have to use a special .yaml.
But ok, will watch the tutorial, maybe it helps.

((In the moment, the Muse isnt’t listed on my ‘ESPHome’ page, for what reason ever, but I have a device in the device list, and it works with text to speech. When I want to create a new device, I get asked which hardware platform to use, and this question, I can’t answer.
Sorry)))

No problem, choose ESP32

Hi,

Hi,
found a .yaml in a forum discussion (Home Assistant Wakeword with Muse Proto HELP - #7 by Macho_Smallface), looks fine. I (as an newbe) understand how to adatpt the file for my box.

Unfortunately, there is an error in the yaml, or some incompatibility beetween versions:

I probably know now, how to adapt the box with a new .yaml, but didn’t understand how to use this ‘substitution’ clause in thee file you privided.
