Pi audio drive noise

I installed Pi Audio Drive on Raspberry Pi 5 following your instructions. Everything works, but when I try to use the microphone, there’s an annoying background noise. I’ve tried various alsamixer settings, but the noise doesn’t go away. Not even removing the cooling fan does. I’d like to point out that I use the official Raspberry Pi power supply connected to your HAT.

Hi Marcello,

I am assuming that you are talking about the onboard microphones.

  1. have you tried to you the alsactl preset included (see installation guide) ?

  2. Could be related to your alsamixer settings, have you tried to teak it?

  3. Have you tried to power using the onboard USB C plug versus the Raspberry Pi USB C?

thx

Yes, I followed the instructions, but the command sudo alsactl restore -f MIC_HP_SPK gives me an error failed to import hw:0 use case configuration -2.

Raspberry Pi is powered by the HAT with a 27W original power supply.
