Pi4 Raspaudio Ultra+ Installation

I am trying to install my new Ultra++ on a RPi4. I only want line in and line out. The installation instructions are conflicting. The github version for Ultra refers to scripts that are not in the cloned driver. This script is supposed to enable the line in and out. I followed the directions here:

Speaker-test results in this:
peaker-test 1.2.8

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
WAV file(s)
ALSA lib confmisc.c:165:(snd_config_get_card) Cannot get card index for wm8960soundcard
Playback open error: -19,No such device

if you have a blue PCB you do not need to install anything on PI OS it is self detected, updated guide:

Try to start from a fresh SD and follow instruction to be sure that you have the last PI OS

Due to another piece of hardware that I needed, I switched to Ubuntu. Ubuntu doesn’t seem to recognize the card.
What is your recommendation for installation?

Steve

Last time I checked Ubuntu had not support for WM8960 codec, check again just in case.

Otherwise your only solution is “brute force” sending the I2c commands to init the codec and declare it as a plain I2S device
