Join us in bringing the Muse Radio to life – your support is invaluable!
The Muse Radio comes out of the box with a fully working standalone webradio application equivalent to what you could find in stores with a local webpage to change your URLs, the difference is that we share the code so it could be customized, it serves as a demo code.
Then we will have 2 pre-baked firmwares for Home Assistant and the other for Squeezelite on apps.raspiaudio.com
Should be in a month for the next batch.
I have a few units in beta test now, I will wait to have their feedback to launch a new batch just in case we’ve missed something, in parallel we will work in creating a tutorial for Home Assistant and Squeezelite.
Due to limitations with ESPHome (I believe the specific limitation is in using the same I2C speaker as both a voice assistant response and a speaker), the Muse Luxe we can only use the device as either a speaker or a voice assistant. Has that been addressed in the Muse Radio or does the same limitation apply?
The product page states that it will be available on Amazon in the EU and US starting this week (3rd week of September) I’m looking forward to ordering one (or more) and would love to know when we’ll see it available for order there!
Thanks for your encouragement, it means a lot. I’ve just finished sending out the backer units.
The real production units won’t be ready next week. I’ve updated the product page for delivery in the 3rd week of October to ensure a comfortable stock. The reason is that this product requires much more capital than expected to manufacture, and as I have put my personal savings at stake to make this project happen, I prefer to get feedback from the backer units before making a large batch, just in case I missed anything.
Just received my muse radio. Trying to setup the WiFi connection but my password uses spaces, and I don’t see how to select those from the alphanumeric list.
Any suggestions other changing my password (which is a hassle as it’s used by so many other devices).
Ok thanks for your feedback will add space in Monday
You can still use apps.raspiaudio.com and if you have the setting menu opened on the Radio you should be able to set the password using your browser
You are user number 2 that has received your Radio so we keep adjusting the software.
Next week I will release the Hope Assistant support and the week after squeezelite
Thanks for your support and patience that made that product possible!
I received my radio yesterday and everything appears to be a-ok. I particularly like the vintage look too. All I need now is the Squeezelite app. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean
Quite seriously though, many thanks for pursuing this project. It is appreaciated and I’m looking forward to participating a little more in the coming months.
